Most Four Years. Go. campaign descriptions outline how the campaign should work from an external point of view, showing practical organizational details and seeking measurable results. But perhaps the greatest take home value any contributor will experience is their own internal transformation.
The following notes intend to map out internal viewpoint shifts that come through rolling out a global transformation of the human morphogenetic field.
1. COINCIDENCE HAS CONSCIOUSNESS Human beings are a biology experiment of planet Earth. Gaia produced an organism complex enough to sustain self awareness, but in general we are still identified with our body and identified with our ego so we got smart before we got intelligent. Gaia would like her experiment to succeed so she provides massive unexpected support for anyone committed to global nondual self-governance emerging. This is experienced as vibrational coherence. When you feel it you can take actions within it. Helpful Attitude #1: The nonlinear influence of coincidence and accident can be trusted. Try the experiment of radical reliance and then radical audacity. Remember Joan of Arc. It was not until 500 years after she did her work that she was sainted. This is radical reliance and radical audacity. It can help to recognize that Europe’s renaissance that ended the dark ages was brought about by a mere 200 individuals using a new invention called the printing press. We are 200,000 organizations using a new invention called the internet. This is not an accident.
2. VANISH YOURSELF We don’t already know how to do Four Years. Go. Anyone assuming they do know how to do this or saying something to the effect of, “This is how it’s done,” may actually interfere with the rapid prototyping and ongoing iterations needed to stay in the global chaordic flow of humanity’s transformation to sustainable culture. Helpful Attitude #2: Welcome chaos. I am not here to control. I am here to learn, become, connect, share and serve. Welcome the invitation to continuously reinvent yourself in this great process of rebirth and evolution. Birth can be painful but it is a natural process. You are not alone with your fear and sadness, anger and joy. We are in this together. Keep connecting, listening and speaking from your heart and soul. Authentic sharing helps digestion and builds the matrix upon which consciousness can grow.
3. TRANSMIT BY LISTENING Creating Four Years. Go. is like creating a global human meta-brain beginning with only a few neurons. This nucleus of neurons is us, the starter team. Our job is to keep deepening our heart/mind/soul information-exchange and service-exchange connections with each other, and to continue extending this same connection to others who are attracted to Four Years. Go. Do not be naïve. Test what a new person’s attraction is. Discern if the attraction is for the benefit of all beings or for personal gain. Helpful Attitude #3: When you sense vibrational coherence, welcome the new friend and transmit the seed crystal to them. Start from: I don’t know you and I love you. What are you creating? What resources do you need to take your next step? Connections? Teamwork? Support? As soon as you provide something of value to another community of practice, the critical connection between you is established and you weave the system of influence for emerging sustainable culture.
4. COMMIT FIRST Four Years. Go. is a self-organizing and self-responsible movement, yet an orchestra needs a conductor, some kind of a navigator organ, an amorphous leaderless resonating blob-team who holds and spreads the seed crystal structure. We are the catalyst that is gelling a new planetary brain meshwork that will look like the internet, so it needs server nodes organizing the flow of things for the benefit of the whole. Helpful Attitude #4: If you look around and you can’t see who the conductor is, in this moment the conductor is you. Start waving your hands and say what you need to say. If you are serving the space then what you need to say or do is exactly what the space needs you to say or do.
5. CONNECT CONTRADICTIONS The Four Years. Go. Connector Team is a central server node in the new global meshwork brain gelling in response to the stress of peak oil, climate change, exponential population rise, financial collapse, and governmental failure. There are many server nodes all trying to connect globally. We only need one seed crystal, but there is tremendous resistance to authentic paradigm change. The resistance is the status quo. The tsunami of combined tipping points is enough chaos to crack the status quo. This is a miraculous opportunity. We move through the cracks in the system like wind and water carved out the Grand Canyon. The Connector Team’s job is to duplicate itself with cells that continue to duplicate themselves, so your job description / personal identity / organizational identity will be evolving from day to day. Helpful Attitude #5: We are all on the same team: the Earth becoming more conscious.
6. RESPOND NOW Capitalist, patriarchal, and empire are three suicidal paradigms. We did not know this before. There are ways other than those prescribed by modern culture for human beings to grow food, eat, stay warm, interact, learn, perceive the world, express their vision, and live well. You have a piece of the puzzle to create. No one else sees a problem or an opportunity exactly the same way you do. Your specific generative perspectives are needed. Helpful Attitude #6: If an unexpected job lands on your bench, it is your job, so just do it. (As you can see, Wieden & Kennedy were preparing us for a long time already to transform the morphogenetic field of the human race.) The details that you see need doing are your details to do. Sustainable culture only works on handled details.
7. EMPOWER OTHERS When the going gets tough and resources look scarce (time, energy, attention, money, helpers, humor, appreciation, recognition, etc.), individuals and organizations naturally tend to shrink back their network connections to try to survive. This is what we were taught to do by the capitalistic patriarchal empire. It is a deep teaching that seems logical and reasonable, and it is suicidal. The opposite reflex can be learned. Train yourself to have a new reaction (first in your mind, and then over time in your heart, body, and soul), so that when the going gets tough and resources look scarce, reach out and connect to new people. Open new doors. Develop a sense of the flow of energy through your work and if the flow starts shrinking, go connect with more strangers. Helpful Attitude #7: Hi. My name is ___. Tell me what you are working on. New people are always there, waiting for your contact. New people have new attitudes, experiences, energy, resources, contacts, thoughtmaps, tools, style, legends, possibilities, vision, associated networks of light warriors, and new pirate jokes to tell.
8. BELIEVE NOTHING Each cell coordinates its activities to outsource the DNA of the sustainability movement to surrounding cells. Groups coordinate on smaller and smaller levels, all carrying seeds for the next cells around them. Meshwork nodes connect at the regional and then finally at the local and personal level where sudden significant change happens through radical responsibility (not asking for permission) and radical audacity (just do it). Finding the joy of responsibility involves upgrading one’s thoughtmap of responsibility. This is as cataclysmic as changing from a flatworld map to a roundworld map. In between the two maps is the liquid state that occurs during any authentic change. If there is no liquid state there is no change. The old thoughtmap of responsibility says that if you take responsibility you are guilty, you will be blamed and punished for what happened in the past. Only stupid people take responsibility. The new thoughtmap of responsibility says taking responsibility puts you at source, at choice, at cause, is an honor, gives you power, freedom and the joy of creating a new future. Helpful Attitude #8: I am responsible. Responsibility is consciousness in action. Beliefs eliminate accountability. Without accountability there is no love.
9. MANAGE THE MEANING Four Years. Go. is a story of mythic proportions. People are dying (literally) to find a legend to live in and to contribute to that creates a bright future for humanity on planet Earth. Four Years. Go. is this legend. While presenting Four Years. Go. to someone else you stand at the point of origin of stories. That is, you take responsibility for being a story maker. This is radical responsibility because humans do not interact with the world as it is. We interact through our thoughtmaps (stories) of the world. This is why switching from a flatworld map to a roundworld map was such a hoo-haw: If you get a new map you get a new world! Stories are made with “Is-Glue”. The word “is” (a fabrication of the human mind) connects an object/experience/idea to an interpretation. This way we make meaning. Human beings are either conscious or unconscious meaning makers. The Four Years. Go. Connector Team is about conscious story making. Helpful Attitude #9: There are two things in life. Bullshit. And nothing. Being a conscious story maker centers you in the nothing because everything else is bullshit – useful bullshit, fun bullshit, exciting bullshit, for sure, but bullshit nonetheless. The greatest source of bullshit with which you must contend is yourself. Four Years. Go. is not about believing your own bullshit. That would make you fanatical, a true believer. We just need a new legend to navigate us through the chaotic liquid state and into sustainable culture. We need a new legend about what is possible. It is your job to ongoingly invent the details of this story authentically, inspiringly, over and over and over again.
10. BE THE CHANGE Every story you tell has a purpose. If you are conscious of the purpose of your story then your storytelling serves Bright Principles (such as integrity, clarity, possibility, love, transformation, respect, collaboration, communication, relationship, reliability, community, discovery, learning, personal development, healing, and so on). If you are not conscious of the purpose of your story then your storytelling serves Shadow Principles (such as superiority, greed, scarcity, competition, I win-you lose, I’m good-you’re bad, I’m bad-you’re good, manipulation, deception, being betrayed thereby gaining the license to get revenge, domination, disrespect, and so on). Each of us has a Bright World and a Shadow World inside of us. Whatever part of your Shadow World for which you do not consciously take responsibility possesses you. The king or queen of your Shadow World is your Gremlin. Everybody has a Gremlin. Whatever percentage of your Gremlin you do not own, owns you, and runs your life for its own ends, hurting the people closest to you to get Gremlin food.
Gremlin food is created while playing the three positions of Low Drama – victim, persecutor and rescuer. Low Drama is an emotional engine powered by unconscious feelings. Poor sad me plays the victim (even a “responsible” victim is a victim). As soon as you prove you are a victim, then you can find a persecutor to be angry at you, or a rescuer to be scared about you. The moment your Gremlin starts up a Low Drama (several times a day…) then he happily jumps from role to role. Low Drama is any action designed to avoid responsibility. In reality, irresponsibility is an illusion. No matter how much you complain, no matter how resentful you are, no matter how much you blame someone else, no matter how well you defend your position and justify yourself, no matter how right you are or wrong they are, nothing actually changes in Low Drama. The only thing that happens is you get older.
The procedure for change is responsibility. Taking responsibility is High Drama. Helpful Attitude #10: Gremlin is neither good nor bad. He just creates certain results. Clarity about Low Drama and Gremlin gives you the power of a matador. You get to choose where you hold the red cloth. When the Gremlin comes charging at you like a vampire-bull you can either hold the cloth in front of you, or your can hold the cloth to the side of you. This is indeed a useful choice. Mainstream capitalist patriarchal empire with its profit-driven corporations and its power-wielding mega-governments is for the most part a Gremlin world. If you do not become fiercely awake about your own Gremlin and the words and actions of every other person’s Gremlin, how could you hope to create peace?
11. DEEPEN YOUR RADICAL INTENTION In each moment and in every circumstance you consciously or unconsciously choose which culture you operate in. Even if you are the only one in a room of a thousand people who is functioning in sustainable culture, you do not have to conform to the culture of your environment. In fact, you shape the circumstances by the way you shape yourself. Most people are not aware of this power. Most people adapt themselves to fit their circumstances as a matter of survival. You can do it the other way around. Herd behavior is an unconscious survival strategy, but it is not required for truly living. Helpful Attitude #11: I am conscious and my circumstances are not. Shaping yourself by intention into a source of sustainable culture clarity causes circumstances to transform around you. It is not a declaration of war to say, “I disagree. I have a different opinion.” Angela Merkel could have said this and refused to sign the paper as COP15 was coming to an end. It would have made a difference. She had the bodily clarity about what was right, but she did not stand in her clarity and say, “I disagree.” You can learn to live as satya graha: nonviolent nonconformance with whatever is nonsustainable.
12. NATURE IS THE MAP Mother Nature has always been the primary source of energy and inspiration for human possibility. But you have a mind. The more you are centered in your mind the more the mind is permitted to think that its own fantasy worlds are real. But no matter how interesting your fantasy worlds are, reality is hard and persistent and will kick you in the ass every time. The human race is being kicked in the ass. If we had dignity we would say, “Thanks for the feedback,” and get with the rapid learning program of biomimicry. The ultimate learning environment about evolutionary processes. The place to experience the symbiosis of wholeness and uniqueness. Both place and process to give a touch of the soul to social biomimicry. Helpful Attitude #12: I am the Earth becoming conscious of itself. If you feel disconnected from Gaia, it is not Gaia’s fault. She did not go anywhere. You just went in your head. To come out of your head practice leaving verbal reality and entering experiential reality. Touch a stone and experience the experience in all four bodies. Meld with the biointelligence field. Breathe.

I would like to make a few comments about the content and its presentation .I am playing devil's advocate.
I am a well educated mixed blood 59 year old common man.
Memetic Co-Evolution?
I searched for it found some things , but why that was used is beyond me as it make no sence to most common people
nor is there any clear relationship between it and how we need to take care of this earth that gives us everything we need.

huh,I thought I was a human trying to learn to be, to take care of my brothers and sisters and this Earth, What does the above mean to the common man?
Still trying to figure out what this "sustainability movement" really means in the way it is present in many of the articles I have read it is 2 words that sound good to someone.

What is responsibly by your definition? With out some concept of your definition of responsibility how do I know if I am in your eyes?

Every thing that exists is alive and everything that is alive has consciousness, maybe not human, but consciousness none the less.
Just trying to point out that this academia approach to your explanations and words will cause many good common people who might be drawn to this cause, to shake there head and see this as just another group of "White People/dominant society" patting themselves on the back.

Elbert - I just saw you comments here, and I think they are all valid. Especially your comments about how does the common man (or woman?) relate to these words. I think that you have a very important point about the need to be able tocommunicate what we are up to on plain language.
That said - I have to say that I love this stuff! Clinton's writing really works for me, and maybe because it is because we have a common culture in that we have been trying to be part of leading edge of the transformational counter-culture for decades. And he is trying to articulate something, that taken in it's wholeness, has never been said before - at least not in this context.
Native American wisdom may already know all this stuff - we are trying to find out to express it in White Man lingo so that our thick and pointy academic skulls can get it - that may part of its beauty. I apologize if it offends your native sensibilities, and your already knowing - the experience of mitakuye oyasin, for instance.
There is much humble ground not yet taken by the dominant culture. It will be interesting to see if we ever take it voluntarily, or only after an horrific failure of the dominant culture's faulty vision.
