Hello team,

I would like you to know about a vision for the future that my international futurists group (which is also a 4YGo ally) is working on. I chaired the “dream tank” that generated the initial dream (see below) earlier this year and now it has been posted to the entire 2,500 membership of the Foresight Network for their input. Anyone wanting to join the Network is welcome to contribute further to this dream for a positive future.

I share this with the 4YGo team in case anyone sees a way we can utilize the existence of such a vision, produced by a group of credible professionals, mostly futurists like myself. Here’s the initial product of our dream tank:

                                                       Our Dreamed for Future

We live in a world where everyone lives in harmony with the earth in all its facets and with each other. Our population numbers are stable and sustainable while everyone has their basic needs met. Everyone has clean water to drink, sufficient nourishing food, a roof over their head and access to effective medical help.

There is widespread commitment to respecting human diversity, promoting inclusivity, championing human rights and the rights of nature, fostering quality of life, pursuing sustainable development, freeing the human spirit for deep play, building a perpetual peace and nurturing a global consciousness.

We enjoy being part of a worldwide community and combine our modern scientific knowledge with the experiences spiritual teachings. People feel loving and loved. Together we achieve things that were not possible when we worked separately or competitively.

We teach our children and ourselves to respect each other and the planet which we inhabit. There is a global consensus that the well–being of the global commons – rainforests, air and water quality, and all things on which the whole world depends - takes precedence over the ambition of any one nation, industry, group or individual. Anyone posing a threat to the global commons will be held accountable by this consensus.

We resolve our differences though peaceful processes and employ sustainable practices in all we consume and acquire.

We acknowledge the need to remain vigilant and invest time and effort in updating our behaviours to meet new challenges as they arise.

We are confident, energetic and fulfilled. We look forward to a happy and successful future for our planet and everything in, on and above it.

We abide by planet-wide governing principles that we know to best serve the longevity and happiness of our species. These principles express our capacity to think inter-generationally in all that we do, to continually, coherently and consistently put the earth and her well-being above all else.
